Horse Details
Our Flagship Horse Jimmy is all about charisma and attitude. The special boy with the curly ears had an impressive career as Arabian Show Horse with many Championship wins in ridden and led classes to his name, before coming to Kerewong to become an endurance and trail horse.
And it took him quite a while to adjust to this change in lifestyle. Jimmy enjoyed the spotlight, attention, pampering and cheering fans of Arabian Horse Shows. He always stood out in the crowd with his dapple grey coat, his unusual tall height, calm confident manners and exceptional movements.
Not often horse riding guests will find a trail riding holiday horse of this quality. A confident, relaxed, easy-going horse to ride for intermediate riders, yet his quality, movement and responsiveness will be appreciated by advanced riders; there simply won't be many riders who don't like riding Jimmy.
Contrary to his fantastic attitude under saddle, Jimmy's attitude on the ground is not as uncomplicated. Although he can be a gentle giant, every now and then his nasty side comes to the surface and suddenly he becomes very challenging to be around. Arrogant, dominant and moody, Jimmy doesn't always cope with being handled by many different people. A dominant horse, he will show his not so friendly side and put every new person who comes near him to the challenge to determine who's boss.
Consequently an Irish horse riding guest gave him his nickname "Jaws- The Great White". Nowadays, to confirm his special status at Kerewong, Jimmy preferably is handled by one person only and mostly saddled and cared for by horse tour guide Kathy.
Jimmy's obsessions in life are food and his little friend Kuta. A curiosity is that Kerewong's tallest Arabian horse is half-brother to Kerewong's smallest horse Aliya.
